I've beena bit naughty…

…I’ve broken some – well, all – of my promises to inform you all abut my trip to WWE RAW, Sonic Unleashed, Chrsitmas, New Yea…no, wait. HERE I AM! Happy Christmas and New Year to all of you, hopefully the new year will bring more updates, although more than likely I will just end up more busy and fed-up than ever. Ah well, can’t moan.

First thing is first I suppose, and to get it out of the way, WWE RAW was possibly the best experience of my life. Close, anyway. It’s a real good laugh and screaming at the top of your lungs while next to the loudest ever pyro in history is a real rush. Anyway, I won’t waffle on about it too much, but here are the photos;

I’ve actually have a load of new games, since it was recently Christmas, so I will have to review Fallout 3, Pure and Grid at a later date, but since I am way overdue, here is my brief take on Sonic Unleashed (full review may follow if the content ever gets up on this site, which is probably optimistic at this stage.)

Sega have done a good job here. The levels are really well designed, the gameplay is actually very good, and the characters are not annoying and are actually quite funny. No Shadow or any of those other retard characters either, just the old-school cast of Sonic, Tails and Amy (and some new supporting characters such as Chip and the Professor but these can be let slide since they’re just members of the Joe Public.) The humans are actually not humanish either, they’re charactured. It’s like an episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, which was a cool show. They even brought the Chilli Dogs back!

Warehog stages are fun, and actually remind me of the good old days of playing Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64. The levels are perhaps a bit too simple and to be honest I perfer the Hedgehog levels to the Warehog ones.

All in all a 9/10 from me and a very big smile.

One last thing, I just wanted to share a nice money-saving tip with you all. Have you ever seen thise Ambilight TV’s? Basically, they light up the area behind the TV in order to create an ambiance and draw you into the screen. Apart from looking really cool, it helps improve you perception of black and the contrast level.

I recently bought a Full HD 1080p 42″ TV – which was not an Ambilight, and decided that there must be a way to repoduce the effect without having to double the cost of the TV and buying an Ambilight.

The answer is Sweedish. Ikea. Yep, Ikea, the greatest flat-packed furnature store on earth. I simply bought a pack if “Dioder” lighting strips. These lights are exactly the same type of technology that are in the Ambilight TV sets. They produce no heat and are available in either multicolour or white (cheaper) – and the best bit is they come with everything you need to attach them to the back of a TV, including instructions. You can get them here: (USA / Canadodar, United Queendom)

The camera does not do it justice due to the way it tries to dim the light, but, as you can see, they work a treat on my TV and produce the exact same effect of an expensive ambilight. Rock on money-saving value!

Anyway, that is all I can spare until next time, typing on here is really slow for some reason, damn computer….

Lots of love for the new year. <3
